The below dates indicate the duration of construction projects, NOT how long Metra intends to keep the alternate schedules in effect. Please monitor alerts and check our homepage or the Ventra app for service updates.

To see which trains might be delayed by construction projects, look for the hardhat icon in the schedules for each line.

BNSF

Effective January 6 until further notice: Weekday construction occurring between Union Ave. to Aurora. Midday trains (including train 1233) with the helmet logo displayed underneath may be delayed up to 10 minutes.

Effective May 31: Saturday construction occurring between Congress Park to Lavergne. Midday trains (In: 2002-2024 / Out: 2001-2021) may be delayed up to 10 minutes.

Metra Electric

Effective January 6 until further notice: Weekday and weekend construction occurring for the rehabilitation of 87th and 95th Street stations. Weekday midday trains (In: 100-334 / Out: 101-245) may be delayed 20 minutes. Weekend midday trains (In: 800-828 / Out: 8301-829) may be delayed up to 30 minutes.

Effective January 6 until further notice: Weekday and weekend evening construction occurring between 11th Place and University Park. Evening weekday trains (In: 138-150 / Out: 345-153) may experience delays up to 30 minutes. Evening weekend trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed 30 minutes.

Milwaukee District North

Effective May 26 through May 30: Weekday construction occurring between Union Station to Grayland. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed up to 15 minutes. On Friday, May 30, Evening construction will also be occurring near Fox Lake. Evening trains (In: 2160 / Out: 2157-2159) may experience delays up to 15 minutes.

Effective May 31 through June 1: Weekend construction occurring between Grayland to Deerfield. Weekend midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed up to 30 minutes. Evening weekend construction will also be occurring near Fox Lake. Evening trains (In: 2622 / Out: 2625-2627) may experience delays up to 15 minutes.

Effective June 2 through June 6: Weekday construction occurring between Union Station to Grayland. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed up to 15 minutes.

Milwaukee District West

Effective May 31 through June 1: Weekend construction occurring between Union Station to Western Ave and along various locations along the line. Weekend midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed up to 15 minutes.

Effective May 12 through May June 6: Weekday construction occurring between Union Station to Western Ave and along various locations along the line. Weekend midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed up to 15 minutes.

North Central Service

Effective May 12 through May 30: Weekday construction occurring between Union Station to Franklin Park. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed up to 15 minutes.

Rock Island

Effective April 28 through June 1: Weekday and weekend construction occurring near 16th Street and Morgan St. Weekday midday trains (In: 606-428 / Out: 601-619) may be delayed up to 10 minutes. Weekend midday trains (In: 202-122 / Out: 205-221) may be delayed up to 10 minutes.

Effective June 2 through June 6: Weekday construction occurring between Oak Forest to Joliet. Weekday midday trains (In: 606-428 / Out: 601-619) may be delayed up to 20 minutes.

SouthWest Service

Effective May 9 through June 6: Weekday construction occurring near Ashburn. Weekday midday trains (In: 812-818 / Out: 805-811) may be delayed up to 20 minutes.

Union Pacific North

Effective May 19 through June 6: Weekday construction occurring near North Chicago for a crossing renewal. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may be delayed up to 30 minutes.

Effective May 31 through June 1: Weekend construction occurring between Lake Bluff to Waukegan. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may experience delays up to 30 minutes.

Union Pacific Northwest

Effective May 19 through June 6: Weekday construction occurring between Cary to Crystal Lake. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may experience delays up to 15 minutes.

Effective May 31 through June 1: Weekend construction between Cary to Crystal Lake. Midday trains with the helmet logos displayed underneath may experience delays up to 15 minutes.
